"Fool's Gold" is an abstracted scene of resource extraction from remote areas of Alaska. The title reflects the short-term satisfaction that comes from mining and destroying pristine natural areas.

The original piece is primarily acrylic, with gouache, watercolor, and fine pencil lining detail work.
