6" Cast Iron Plant
6" Cast Iron Plant (Aspidistra elatior)
Bring home the legendary, near-indestructible elegance of Aspidistra elatior, the classic Cast Iron Plant. True to its name, this Victorian-era favorite earned its reputation by easily surviving conditions that would cause other plants to falter. It features clean, architectural, lance-shaped leaves that rise gracefully on slender stalks from a central rhizome. The deep forest-green foliage is thick, leathery, and boasts a subtle, elegant matte texture.
This 6-inch container size is a fully established, robust specimen, offering a full and upright silhouette that serves as a beautiful accent for dark corners, busy hallways, or minimalist living rooms.

Important Notes Before You Buy
⚠️ Slow-Growing Habit
The Cast Iron Plant is a notoriously slow grower, carefully putting out only a handful of new leaves each year. Because it takes a long time to increase in size, starting with an established 6-inch pot gives you a ready-made, structural presentation that will hold its shape beautifully without rapidly outgrowing its spot.
📸 Natural Form & Silhouette Variation
Every Aspidistra develops its own individual leaf density, height variations, and gentle outward arch. While your specimen will strictly meet the premium 6-inch container size, excellent root health, and rich green quality standards shown in our stock photo, its specific leaf count and silhouette will be beautifully one-of-a-kind.
Quick Care Tips
-
Light: Exceptionally versatile. Thrives in low to medium, indirect sunlight. Keep it entirely out of direct afternoon sun, which can easily scorch or bleach the deep green leaves.
-
Water: Less is more. Allow the potting mix to dry out almost completely down through the top half of the pot before watering again. It prefers a good drench followed by a thorough drying period; it highly dislikes constantly soggy or waterlogged soil.
-
Soil: Retains its best health in a rich, loose, and well-aerated potting mix with excellent drainage.
