5" Agave 'Blue Glow'
CALIFORNIA NATIVE PLANT
Caring for agave plants is fairly straightforward:
1. Sunlight: Agaves thrive in full sunlight. Place them in a spot where they get at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily.
2. Watering: Water sparingly. Let the soil dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot.
3. Soil: Use well-draining soil, such as a cactus mix. This prevents waterlogged conditions that agaves dislike.
4. Temperature: Agaves prefer warm temperatures and are generally frost-sensitive. Protect them from freezing temperatures.
5. Fertilizing: Fertilize sparingly, especially during the growing season (spring and summer), using a balanced fertilizer diluted to half-strength.
6. Propagation: Agaves can be propagated from offsets (pups) that grow around the base of mature plants. Wait until these pups are a decent size before separating them.
By following these simple care guidelines, your agave plant should thrive and remain healthy.
