The Balter is a glazed 5-inch ceramic plant pot with a matching saucer, named after a word that means to dance clumsily, without skill, but with real enthusiasm. Glazed ceramic wipes clean and holds soil moisture more evenly than raw terracotta.

The pot stands 4.5 inches tall. The center drainage hole moves water through instead of letting it pool at the roots, and the saucer keeps the shelf dry. At five inches, it suits a settled shelf plant, a pothos or a fern that has decided to stay.
